The „Customer Love Index” of 2015 released by the automotive brand analysis company Strategic Visions has announced that people’s love vote for this year goes to none other than the Porsche Macan.
While hybrids were fashionable for a while, this year they scored below average in the auto industry and even lower than the less cooler minivans.
In case you missed it, the Porsche Macan is quite the opposite of a hybrid. It is a luxury compact SUV with 340 HP, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, available at $54,400 for start. The index revealed it gained 629 points compared to 412 for the luxury CUV segment and 400 overall in the auto field. Its super high score was reached due to its performance, interior styling, design, brand image and reliability.
Last year, the winner of the most loved car was the Tesla Model S, but this time, the carmaker did not allow those from Strategic Visions survey customers from all 50 states in the U.S. which led to the car not making it into the report. Andrew Edwards, President of Strategic Vision, said about the electric car maker that „They did very well, and they would have won first place.”
While the company needs to have samples from customers belonging to all 50 states for an accurate study, Tesla did not offer customer sales information for the three-stage survey in 2015. However, it is not a premiere, as Honda had previously not given a full sample for all Demographic Marketing Areas.
And while a luxurious model taking the top spot might not come as a surprise, it is interesting to see that millenials do value more affordable hatchbacks in the face of supercars.
